{Dec 2010 to date}
A cold winter evening date with husband and a surprise in my handbag to change our lives forever. Although it has been close to a year since this night, I remember it like it was yesterday. Blake had been on a trip, so I made reservations at a favorite restaurant in Washington. I guess it might have been an early craving for their chicken Dijon dish. I was so happy to surprise Blake with a Sophie, giraffe, announcing our pregnancy news! We knew after our wedding in June 2010, we wanted to start growing our family. During Christmas, 5 weeks pregnant, I found myself extremely tired and experiencing all day nausea. This pregnancy was very different from my previous, 6 years prior. We kept our news under sealed lips for several weeks. Our first prenatal appointment was late in January 2011. We were completely shocked to have an ultrasound clarifying we had 2 heartbeats...very strong and appeared to be healthy babies growing! I can't imagine receiving this special news without Blake & Tucker in the room with my doctor and I. The next several weeks went as expected, very tired, nauseous and overwhelmed with emotions. It was a sweet time to be reminded of the continuous support and love from family and friends. It was an uneventful first and second trimester pregnancy. Babies were growing right on track and I managed to work full-time. Tucker flew off to Australia with his dad for 7 weeks and the pregnancy took a quick shift to becoming eventful. My appointment revealed a dilation of 1cm and effaced 80%. Praise God these babes stayed healthy and grew while I was on full bed rest. At 36wk 2day, I was induced and we welcomed a baby boy & baby girl. How Perfect! and now....I will try to post from their birth, Tucker's arrival back on US soil through the end of 2011
